MotifSmith

MotifSmith is a free online pattern generator for flat colorwork. Start from a photo, text, or a blank grid and get a chart you can follow stitch by stitch: row-by-row counts, yarn estimates, drawing tools (pen, fill, mirror, undo), and a making board with color highlight and row guide. Switch the same design between crochet, filet, knitting, and fuse beads while keeping proportions and edits. Chart conversion is a color-matching algorithm that runs in your browser so the image stays on your device; an optional AI redraw is available if you choose it. Making and following patterns online is free; clean PDF downloads use credits (or free when you publish to the gallery, within account limits).
